About this Event
Take part in the 2024 City Nature Challenge’s Crissy Field Bioblitz and become a field biologist for the morning, helping Presidio ecologists observe and identify organisms in this urban national park. This year there are 691 cities across 51 countries taking part!
This international celebration of the incredible diversity of life all around us takes place in two parts: an observation period and an identification period. All you have to do is take pictures of wild, growing, living things you observe in the park and upload them to the iNaturalist app.
No experience is needed to participate, and your participation matters – what you observe becomes information that scientists can use. What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to learn about what lives here. For adults and youth ages 9 and up.
Participants should meet at the Presidio Field Station.
What is a Bioblitz?
A Bioblitz is a biological inventory or census with a goal of gathering a count of plants, animal, fungi, and other organisms that live in a place. Species gathered are categorized into groups that have similar characteristics.
