As the Miller Center celebrates 50 years of impact on our understanding of the American presidency, this program will examine two major cases of presidential success and leadership: The George W. Bush administration’s success in launching and implementing the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Barack Obama administration’s successful raid against Osama Bin Laden. The conversations will focus on what led to the success of these two very different initiatives, including how the plans were initiated, what outcomes were expected, and what led to their success. This is a capstone event celebrating the Miller Center's 50th anniversary.
