Tuesday, October 21st at 6.00 P.M.

This talk is part of

An In-Person and Online Program

The in-person program will be followed by a short reception

Executive Director Giulietta Fiore will explore the mission and impact of the , a nonprofit organization working in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to preserve and promote 23 historic house museums located on public parkland across all five NYC boroughs.

Founded in 1989 at Gracie Mansion by Mayor Ed Koch and Parks Commissioner Henry Stern, the Historic House Trust is supported by a network of preservationists, historians, architects, and community members. The historic resources under their stewardship range from modest cottages to grand manors, and serve as vital educational and cultural resources attracting over 700,000 visitors annually.

The Historic House Trust is overseeing 25 active capital projects totaling $140 million across 16 New York City Council districts. These projects span a wide range of needs including historic interior and exterior restorations, HVAC system upgrades, innovative accessibility improvements, the development of community programming space, and landscape enhancements.

In close collaboration with over 20 independent, community-based nonprofit organizations that operate the sites daily, the Historic House Trust ensures these publicly-owned historic houses remain vibrant cultural resources—connecting neighborhoods across all five boroughs with over 400 years of New York City history.

Giulietta Fiore brings to her leadership role a strong background in archaeology and museum management, shaped by her studies at McGill University. She is also a beginner open water swimmer with a personal goal: to someday swim past the Little Red Lighthouse.
