Course Description:
Note: The content of this 2.5 hour workshop is continuously updated to reflect the most recent, ever-changing medical/science information available.
The workshop will progress from a detailed sketch of the nature and incidence of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), an explanation of the newest class of AD drugs, “cutting edge”, “one and done” measures for AD prevention, as well as the most recent and powerful AD avoidance tactics as “activity habits” derived from physicians specializing in AD prevention, and the latest medical/scientific journals, including: the improvement of quality and duration of sleep, the identification and removal of mycotoxin-producing mold (in re: “inhalational” AD), specified types and duration/frequency of exercise, diet, and a unique, 12-minute, daily practice of “Sat Nam” or “medical” meditation that produces profound, positive effects on brain structure and function. Roger will share the medical proof of this through “before/after” brain scan research, and explain its positive effects on brain longevity, health span, mood, and the creation/maintenance of a “spiritual fitness” of a secular nature within the overall framework of physical/psychological health achieved via the regular practice of yoga.
The tactics Roger has chosen to describe in his workshop range in estimated, individual AD prevention power of between approximately 20% and 60%. When aggregated, the overwhelming scientific conclusion is that AD is preventable. Roger will also describe the relevant historical evolution of the general practice of meditation, and demonstrate/train you in the multi-modality practice of “Sat Nam”, or “medical” meditation. (See the below “Sat Nam” “Benefits” paragraph for a non-comprehensive list of same.) Roger’s workshop will conclude with your 12 minute, highly-engaging practice of this unique form of meditation, and a question/answer session. No prior yoga/meditation knowledge or experience is required for you to receive the maximum benefits of Roger’s workshop. Roger is not affiliated with any products, individual scientists or medical practitioners mentioned in his workshop or his handouts/materials provided to you for ongoing reference.
No products will be marketed or sold at this event.
Benefits of regular, daily “Sat Nam”, or “medical” meditation” include:
- increased *telomerase activity by 43% (*telomerase is an enzyme that effects telomeres, the protective “end caps” of chromosomes that serve as “markers” of aging, cell degeneration, disease, and, therefore, cellular health and longevity)
- reduced symptoms of depression, tension, anger, and confusion
- improved cognitive functions of attention, concentration, and short-term memory
- increased blood flow to the brain’s medial pre-frontal cortex, the thalamus (thought to be the seat of consciousness), and to the anterior and posterior cingulate gyrus (an area of the brain in which a marked decrease in blood flow and oxygen is thought to be a first indicator of AD).
