Join Preservation Dearborn on February 3, at 7 p.m. at the McFadden-Ross House to hear Mason Christensen of the Dearborn Historical Museum present a lecture on the earliest recorded history of the city.
Over 400 years ago, the Southeast Michigan area was a cultural borderland of different tribal communities. The arrival of European diseases and technology shattered the status quo within only a few decades. In this lecture by Mason Christensen, learn about the Native American tribes that were in the area, the wars that drove many from the region, how Europeans first came to settle along the River Rouge into what is now Dearborn, and how the first European communities developed along the river in the 1700s.
