Preservation Bootcamp: Window Restoration

Have windows that seem dillapidated, and the thought of fixing them yourselves seem overwhelming and out of sight? Enjoy working with your hands, or even potentially a tradesman that wants to learn a new skill? Come celebrate classic craftsmanship and education, and learn some new skills along the way. We will be restoring some of the windows at the iconic Carnegie Library, and we would love your presence. Skills and education will include but not be limited to:
-Discussing types of windows and glazing
-Restoring wooden glazed windows
-Introduction to putty glazing
-Introduction to epoxy and wood repairs
Under the leadership of Paul Sutherland, Eureka Springs Building Inspector with over 30 years of experience in building and restoration, and Trevor Halladay, a preservation specialist, all under the guidance of nationally renowned preservationist Bob Yapp, participants will gain valuable skills in traditional repair techniques, including:
This immersive course is limited in size to ensure direct instruction and plenty of hands-on time. Participants will work on real windows in the historic public library, gaining practical experience from start to finish.
This is a physical workshop—expect to get dirty! Please bring work gloves and eye protection. Pack your lunch.
