Join David Jonies, director of music at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, to close the organ recital series for the season with a free evening organ concert that showcases his extraordinary musicianship and the majestic Murdy Family Organ at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Immediately after Sunday Vespers, this exceptional performance offers a rare opportunity to hear an organist who has performed in concert at London's Westminster Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, as well as Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
The program features music by J.S. Bach, Juan Cabanilles, Charles-Marie Widor, and others, blending sacred tradition with classic artistry. Experience the depth, drama, and grandeur of the repertoire up close.
*No tickets or reservations are required. Stay after Vespers and let the sound of one of the world's great instruments carry you into the night.
*Made possible by the Marjorie O'Malley Sacred Music Series. Co-presented by Sacred Music at Notre Dame.
