In a time when images can be endlessly manipulated, photographer Jessica Kaminski is turning back to one of photographyβs most hands-on and historic processes: the dry plate. In this talk, she shares her journey through a week-long intensive workshop learning to coat and expose glass negativesβwhile also exploring photographyβs early entanglement with illusion, scandal, and the occult. From spirit photographers to fairy hoaxes, she traces a legacy of deception that contrasts sharply with her own pursuit of slowness, presence, and truth in image-making today.
