Join us for the ENGAGE full-day Trauma Informed Care (TIC) workshop for health and welfare professionals
About this Event

We will discuss the trauma informed care (TIC) framework, including the key principles, what the latest literature says about the approach, and where it is being utilised. You will have the opportunity to apply the TIC framework to practical scenarios involving natural hazards (e.g., flood events) to understand the repercussions of such events on our community, the mental health challenges it creates, and the role of TIC in mitigating these effects for ourselves and the people we care for.

This workshop will delve into the prevalence of trauma, including the latest research from the Child Maltreatment Study in Australia, and will examine the impact of trauma across health, developmental and neurobiological domains.

We aim to equip you with the knowledge and skills to apply TIC principles effectively in your daily practices, ensuring sensitive and compassionate patient care across contexts.

We're offering this workshop to residents and workers of Noosa, Gympie and Fraser Coast local government areas, in recognition of impacts these communities have faced sue to floods & severe weather.

Secure your place by registering now.

The funding for this program is provided by Country to Coast, QLD, with support from the Australian Government through the PHN program.
