About this Event
Full Day Training on REAC Inspection Requirements

This workshop is designed to discuss the fundamentals of REAC Compliance and the UPCS Inspection Protocols, as well as all of the recent updates and expected changes. This session includes a high-level review of the UPCS Inspection Code, REAC Scoring, the new rules and updates. This classroom session is a terrific resource for managers, maintenance, and executives who want to understand what needs to be addressed on their properties at all times to ensure that the property is well prepared at all times and non-compliance risks can be identified and eliminated.

In 2018, HUD stated that there would be a new direction for REAC - one that places focus on every day compliance, inspections that are able to accurately portray what the condition of the property is like for residents on an average day, not just after a maintenance fire drill. Proper physical compliance on properties needs to be a vigilant process, one that is constantly in motion and constantly striving to be better

NPSIRE - A New Inspection Protocol and Process for HUD Properties

Now, HUD has indicated a new series of changes to the inspection process, creating a new inspection protocol - NSPIRE - which promises to reinvent the inspection process.

The new changes require so much more than new inspection checklist - it presents organizational challenges, including new demands on leadership and teamwork.

We will review both what the future will bring and what needs to be done during the transition to NSPIRE.

Understanding REAC Inspections

Understanding REAC Compliance is about understanding that the physical requirements for a property are no different than the regulatory requirements - you have to have a discerning eye for issues at all times, set processes in place to double check your physical compliance. During this workshop, after covering the new updates, requirements, and anticipated new direction for HUD REAC, we will reivew the existing requirements and how you can best prepare your properties for REAC Inspections.

Preparing for REAC with 14-day Notice for Inspections

How do you prepare your properties for REAC inspections with the new reality that inspections can occur with limited notice and incredibly limited ability to modify the inspection scheduling date.

  • Non-Industry Standard Repairs: Understand the requirements for non-industry repairs and how you can best ensure that all repairs are done to meet these standards.
  • Essential UPCS/REAC Deficiencies: We will review the UPCS Inspection Code and discuss the issues that are most common and typically carry the highest scoring values. We review the deficiencies to discuss how to recognize the issues, repair within industry standards and understand how to best recognize the issues.
