Prepare with Pedro is a fun and engaging emergency preparedness program from the American Red Cross, designed specifically for children in grades K–2. Through storytelling and interactive activities, students join Pedro the Penguin on his adventures to learn how to stay safe during emergencies like home fires, earthquakes, floods, and more.The class teaches kids basic safety skills in a positive and age-appropriate way, helping them feel confident and empowered. With a focus on coping skills and family communication, "Prepare with Pedro" also encourages children to share what they’ve learned with their families, promoting preparedness at home.
This program aligns with educational standards and supports social-emotional learning by helping children manage fear, stay calm, and take action when needed.
Pre-registration is required. Limited spots. This class is free and will be hosted at Pinnacle Gymnastics in Shawnee.
