Join Kristen and Rebecca for this nourishing experience geared to soothing the nervous system and giving space for deep rest during pregnancy. Yoga Nidra during pregnancy is a powerful practice to relax parents-to-be and clear the mind and offer clarity and focus. During this practice parents can feel a deeper connection to their babies and help with bonding. It is said that a Yoga Nidra session is equivalent to many hours of sleep so this is a great way to rejuvenate your tired body mind and spirit.
The serene and soothing sound bath is tailored for you if you’re nearing the end** of your pregnancy and seeking a gentle purposeful way to commemorate this significant transition and welcome the impending arrival of new life. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in deep restorative relaxation for both your body and spirit allowing you to momentarily pause and fully
embrace appreciate and celebrate this stage of your journey.
In this session you will be guided through some yoga poses to connect to the physical body and prepare for Yoga Nidra. Then you will be guided into a Yoga Nidra session where you relax and rest. Throughout the Yoga Nidra we’ll tune into your unique physical and emotional state connecting with the growing life inside and acknowledging any emotions surrounding this transition with an open heart. You will be comfortably supported in positions with blankets and pillows enveloped in the harmonious sounds produced by various gentle instruments like singing bowls and chimes. These sounds will facilitate profound relaxation allowing your nervous system to find peace and your body to release happy hormones bringing you to a state of gratitude and love.
*Please bring anything you need to allow you to rest comfortably such as a pillow (or pillows) and warm blanket as you will be lying still for most of this session. There is plenty of room so bring as much as you wish!
**There is some controversy surrounding the exposure of pregnant women and developing fetuses to loud noises. Given the sensitivity of a fetus’s developing hearing the instruments used will be played gently and at safe decibel levels. Moreover they will never directly contact the mother with the primary focus being on relaxation. These events are tailored for women in the final months of pregnancy. However during the first trimester when heightened sensitivity to sound may cause discomfort it may be prudent to proceed with caution. If unsure please consult with a doctor.
