Enjoy the story of America’s historic beginning in the place where Louisiana’s own history still echoes. The Old State Capitol, in partnership with Louisiana Public Broadcasting and the Louisiana Chapter of America 250, invites you to enjoy the premiere of THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, the latest documentary from PBS and acclaimed filmmakers Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein & David Schmidt.
Join us Sunday, November 16 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and you will be among the first to see the beginning of this special six-part series as we present the first episode an hour before the broadcast premiere! Come early and enjoy complimentary food and drinks provided by Louisiana's Old State Capitol beginning at 5:30 p.m.
THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down. Thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic Coast rose in rebellion, won their independence, and established a new form of government that radically reshaped the continent and inspired centuries of democratic movements around the globe.
Admission is free. Seating is limited. Reserve your seat before it's too late!
ADDED BONUS!
All attendees will receive a free Louisiana America 250 lapel pin, The American Revolution tote bag, and an LPB embossed notebook to jot down all of your revolutionary ideas!
THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION airs on LPB beginning Sunday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 p.m. and airs for six consecutive nights through Friday, Nov. 21. The film is supported locally by the Louisiana Forestry Association.
