The Charlton Arts and Cultural Council, along with The Story School, are hosting a premiere screening of "Hero Camp!" at Prindle Pond Conference Center in Charlton, MA. “Hero Camp!” is a coming of age documentary that follows three queer teens on the path to self-discovery at LARP camp. Meet the filmmakers and the Camp Director for featured camp program, Camp FABLE, and participate in a silent auction to raise funds for camp scholarships.
Camp FABLE is a live-action role-play summer camp that transforms campers into heroes, and camp into a fantasy adventure. Heroes level up their real world skills through foam sword battles, immersive role-play, and STEM puzzles. Camp FABLE prides itself on being a safe space for neurodiverse, LGBTQIA+, and nerdy youth of all backgrounds.
Doors open at 4:00pm for participation in the Silent Auction. Screening of "Hero Camp!" is expected to begin at 5:00pm with a Q&A for filmmakers and camp staff after the show.
This event is free to attend, with a suggested ticket donation to support Camp FABLE as well as the film's creators.
