Summertime is all about getting outdoors and basking in the sun whenever we can. It means having friends over for dinner al fresco, and it absolutely means keeping cooking to a minimum! (Who wants to toil over a hot stove in the summer heat?)
For seafood lovers, summertime also means taking advantage of the bounty of the sea in the simplest, freshest ways possible. Join Formaggio Kitchen's culinary expert Julian Hammer and educator Adam Centamore for an evening exploring the best ways to enjoy summer seafood.
Taking ancient preparation cues from Peru, Japan, Italy, and other cultures, they will serve up a variety of raw fish and shellfish preparations that celebrate the pure, unmasked flavors of the ocean's finest offerings. From the simplest oyster to fish dishes that explode with citrus, spice, and layer after layer of flavor, you'll discover how these ancient techniques transform each dish with minimal intervention, letting the natural tastes and textures of each shine.
Each dish will highlight carefully selected ingredients and accompaniments, chosen to enhance rather than overwhelm. Whether it's a citrus oil, exotic spice, or unique sea salt, or just a killer olive oil, you'll learn how to use each of them in your preparations at home.
Of course, these dishes will be served alongside a variety of expertly crafted adult beverages that will bring out the absolute best in the pairings.

To fully participate in the class:
1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as dinner fare and wine for one.
2. Show up on the day of class! Class will begin at 7:30pm. This is a steated event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is about an hour and a half. After class, there will be time to shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!).
3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please reach out to [email protected] when you make your reservation if you or a member of your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions. Our classroom coordinator will help you to determine if the class can be modified to accomodate your needs. The health and safety of our guests is a priority for us.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
