Do you have what it takes to survive? Learn about the atlatl and find out!Long before the bow and arrow, ancient peoples relied on the spear-thrower, or "atlatl," for survival. Come join us to try your hand at using the atlatl and to learn more about the history of this fascinating, ancient technology! This program is best suited for those 8yrs and older, but we have one child-sized atlatl available for those that are younger.

Bring: Closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes are best), hydration, and bug repellant. This program is outdoors, please dress for the weather and wear sun protection
Pets: For safety reasons, please leave your pets at home.

FYI:
- Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- The program may be canceled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
- For groups larger than eight, please contact Ranger Sara for a private event.
