We are a group of people keen to bring back the birds to Timaru. We see the Scenic as a great place to start. People sporadically see Tui, Kereru and the like, but wouldn’t it be amazing to see them in your backyard and every time you visited the Scenic? To make this happen we need your help please. If you live very beside the Scenic we would love you to be an active trapper of the predators that are holding back the population growth of these native birds. It is very easy to create trap shy predators, especially rats, so we would really appreciate for you to come to the South Canterbury Eco Centre to learn about why and how to trap predators. We will also show you how to collate your data, which will help us with funding in the future.
Rotary District 9999 is making some rat trap tunnels and are donating them to people who come along to our information evening. We would love for you or a representative to join us at the South Canterbury Eco Centre (next to the Crows Nest) on Thursday 6th March at 7pm to learn how to bring back the birds to Timaru!
Please fill out the registration or be in touch with Chris on 0220847450 or Alice on [email protected] if you have questions.
