About this Event
Precious Metals formed in Sheffield in 2018. Their beachcombing post-punk riffs, psychedelic keys and earworming alternative pop harmonies have the band surfing somewhere on the Pacific Ocean between 90s Olympia and Connan Mockasin’s tripped-out New Zealand. Their lyrics are inspired by bottled messages found in post-industrial waterways, the social politics of Cold War Germany, Mongolian wildlife – or, in the case of ‘Portholes’, were written entirely by a pair of schoolgirls from Rotherham.
My Lo-Fi Heart is the solo project of Sheffield-based hoarder of musical instruments Ian Turley. The music is a hypnotic, daydreamy, elusive jumble of jangly guitars, crackly analogue synths and dusty drum machines, with a melodic sweetness at the heart. If electroshoegaze were a thing, it would sound like this.
Pink Opaque are here to lighten the sky and the mood through 70s disco vibes, 80s synth tones, 90s dance beats, timeless indiepop hooks and a sparkly guitar. For fans of: Bis, Deerful, Figurine, Hannah Diamond, Helen Love, The Human League, Icona Pop, Pipas, Red Sleeping Beauty, and Saint Etienne. Not for fans of: The Doors. Good honest electronica from Yorkshire with a glittery face and a messy human heart. We call it futurepop.
Bring your own booze/non-booze. No terfs. Ta.
