This is a super casual event. I’ve organised a venue and some stimulus topics, everything else is up to you. You can talk about them if they resonate. You can just socialise. Or you can try to get some work done.
Stimulus:
• How can we advocate for an Australian AI Safety Institute? What should such an institute do?
• Are we in a short-timelines world? If so, how should we respond, either in terms of our personal lives or in terms of making AI go well?
• Is artificial intelligence a mistake? Should humanity have aimed for artificial wisdom instead?
If you find yourself with a couple of spare minutes before the event, I’d encourage you to ponder these questions.
Hopefully, a bunch of folk with similar interests turn up and this results in some lively discussions.
