Peoria River City Singles Showdown Rules1. This tournament is open to ALL Peoria River City USBC members. Bowlers must also be in good standing with USBC to
participate as this event is USBC certified. Youth bowlers with a current Peoria River City USBC sanction are eligible to
participate, provided a valid RULE 400 waiver is filed with the Tournament Manager. Memberships can be purchased at
the tournament.
2. Entry fee for this event will be $60 per event; $22.00 lineage, $3.50 expenses, and $34.50 prize fund. All prize fund fees
are returned 100%. At least one award will be given for every 4 entries in each division. All prize funds shall be distributed
within thirty (30) days following the close of the tournament.
3. All entries need to be checked in and paid at least 15 minutes before the squad starts. Walk in entries will be allowed
but need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the squad. Bowlers will be given ten (10) minutes of practice beginning
at the squad time start. A tardy bowler will receive a “0” for each frame missed.
4. All participants will bowl 6 games, moving to a predetermined lane schedule after every game. The bowler with the
highest total pinfall in each division, plus handicap where applicable, will be crowned the champions of the event.
5. This tournament will be conducted on a handicap and scratch basis. The handicap basis will be 90% of 225, based on
the following average:
a. Highest USBC certified average (winter or summer) using bowl.com for the 2024-2025 season with a minimum
of 21 games.
b. If (a) does not apply, a bowler will use their current USBC certified average, minimum 15 games, by providing a
league standing sheet.
c. If neither (a) or (b) apply, the bowler will use a 225 average for this tournament, and bowl scratch.
d. Rule 319a WILL NOT apply, however, rule 319c and 319e WILL apply.
e. Any and ALL leagues that certify as “Sport” or “Challenge” by USBC shall be subject to average adjustment
according to rule 202a-202e.
6. Divisions are as follows:
Handicap – 209 average & under Scratch – 210 average & over
**Those who qualify to bowl in Handicap may compete in Scratch.
7. It is the responsibility of each bowler to check into the tournament office. During this check in, each bowler must verify
their average. Failure to confirm their average could result in disqualification.
8. In the event of a tie, co-champions will be declared, and duplicate awards/prize money given.
9. Handicap and scratch brackets will be available to all bowlers. SCRATCH BOWLERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER
HANDICAP BRACKETS AND VICE VERSA. Brackets will be $5 each and payout $25 for 1st and $15 for 2nd. Brackets will begin
on games 1, 2 and 3.
10. Any appeal or protest concerning scoring errors MUST be made in writing and submitted to the Tournament Manager
no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the game has been bowled. The tournament committee shall rule on an appeal
or protest. Their decision shall be final EXCEPT when an appeal is made to USBC directly.
11. If at any point the bowler is unable to finish, they will be given zeros for all remaining frames/games, and no refund
will be given.
12. All bowlers entering this event are expected to abide by USBC rules and policies. All decisions made by the Tournament
Manager are FINAL. All other USBC rules apply.
