Praying together is a key part of a healthy Islamic society. Congregational prayer was attended by men, women, and children at the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be open him. Do you know the rules of congregational prayer? Among these prayers is the Friday prayer as well.
As well as praying together we may find ourselves in situations when prayer becomes difficult or circumstances are not as ideal as we expect. Islam has catered for all situations. Praying whilst travelling has its specific rulings as well as illnesses that prevent movement. Therefore, we need to learn about such situations.
There are other prayers that have been gifted to us and we will learn about, such as the Eid prayer, prayer of fear and eclipse prayer.
Unit Aims:
To cover and understand the various prayers that exist in Islam.
Understanding how rulings of prayer change when circumstances change.
Become able and confident in performing all types of prayers.
Know what to do if you make a mistake in prayer or forget.
What will I learn?
Congregational prayer its conditions, who should lead and what to do if you join late. Jumu’a prayer, Traveller’s prayer, prayer for an ailing person, Eid prayer & more.
How to rectify a mistake in prayer by doing the Prostration of Forgetfulness.
Rulings about death, washing the deceased shrouding funeral prayer and burial.
What will I achieve?
• Be able to perform various prayers and in congregation
• Recognise what constitutes a mistake in prayer and what does not
• How to continue praying even if one has made a mistake
• Adjust your prayer when circumstances change
• Able to know what dispensations are utilisable in various scenarios
