Hello friends! For those who missed the November show, here's an opportunity to catch this material before I go on a performance break of unspecified duration---in order to develop a FORTHCOMING SHOW on the themes of community conflict, relational accountability & allyship development, rooted in my training and experiences as a conflict mediator, yoga practitioner, social observer/theorist, and somewhat-seasoned interventionist-in-abuse-situations. In the meanwhile, PRAY & WEAVE is a solo show offering a collection of guitar- and keys-backed original songs on the following subject matter:
- honoring while closing the chapter on life-defining traumatic events
- sincere & authentic prayer
- resilience & persistence through dark night of soul
- blessing & protection for changemakers facing complex relational shifts
- blessing & protection for transfeminine spiritual warriors
- tribute song to Peoria, as a small city where new lifestyles can be established
- assertion of joy from an inner wellspring
A limited number of $15 zines will be available for purchase, featuring lyrics as well as commentary for each song in the show---DM to reserve, or take your chance the night-of!
No charge for admission, cash/Venmo/Paypal tips requested.
Often while crying a little bit, previous attendees have said:
- "I had no idea. You should be in Carnegie Hall. Your music is medicine. When you sing about joy, it fills the room."
- "Your voice is beautiful but more than anything your lyrics and melodies just fill my heart. One of the best moments I had this year was listening to you play."
- "Very powerful, incredibly moving. I felt very seen tonight, I think we all did. For that reason, I felt compelled to say that your performance was up there in memorable life experiences."
- "This song is now one of my favorite songs ever. Not favorite songs tonight, favorite songs EVER."
- "I like to show up for these kinds of things but I had no particular expectations. And I was just blown away. You are an incredible songwriter and I've never heard guitar played in that way, it's so unique and cool."
- "Daaaaaaaaaaaamn Jacob"
