Fall is here and it is a good time to work on removing invasive species such as green brier, and bush honeysuckle. On Saturday November 22 at 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Prairie Creek Recreation Area, 1215 East Summit St, Maquoketa IA, 52060 help Jackson County Conservation remove invasive species! Volunteers will meet at the Prairie Creek Recreation Area pavilion at 10:00 am. Volunteers will help lop, drag, and pile the invasive species. Volunteers should dress for the weather and field work. Attire should include work gloves, closed toe shoes, long pants, sweatshirt/jacket/coat, or anything that is comfortable and able to get dirty.
Please register 48 hours in advance. To register, call Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or email [email protected]. In the event of inclement weather (rain, snow, cold temperatures) the event will be canceled. If the event was to be canceled Jackson County Conservation will have that announcement on our Facebook page.
