About this event : This Course is for frontline workers or volunteers who work with children who have/or could have ADHD who live in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland. If you are not working in this area then you will not be able to attend this course.
To give professionals the knowledge and understanding of ADHD and its impact. To share practical day-to-day ideas and strategies to help positive engagement with families. It Includes a face-to-face training day plus e-learning.
Face-to-face training day at Tea Rooms of Leicester Town Hall - Leicester Town Hall Square
Time: Between 10am to 3pm
Session Objectives:
- To develop a sound understanding of what ADHD is, its causes and diagnostic process, and how it presents
- To consider the impact of ADHD on the individual, their families and their wider engagements e.g. Education
- Develop an ADHD-appropriate toolkit to best support individuals and families
- To understand the role and function of ADHD Solutions
Course content
- ADHD Awareness - the ADHD brain, executive functions, diagnosis, Medic*tion, positive traits of ADHD
- Creating an ADHD-appropriate toolkit with practical ideas and strategies, incorporating the basics of 123 Magic and Parenting Challenging Teens
- Will provide an opportunity to see our facilities and gain a better sense of the support we can provide
On completion of the course and an evaluation, you’ll be issued with your Practitioners ADHD Toolkit certificate.
Please note that refreshments are provided but not lunch.
