This practice we will learn how to clean our tack. Please expect the majority of practice to be spent cleaning. Clean tack will be a requirement of all performances. We will sometimes have some muddy rides, but also the arena dust gets everywhere.Keeping clean tack is very important in many ways; it teaches our kiddos responsibility, looks professional, and avoids accidents by keeping clips, straps, and ties in working order.
By keeping your tack clean, you also have the time to really look over the quality of your equipment and identify ripped or broken pieces BEFORE you put it on your horse.
We will have some cleaning supplies and saddle stands available to share, but I will post pictures of products I prefer to use. They are available at Tractor Supply and are great to have in your trailer.
After cleaning, the kids are welcome to ride BAREBACK in the arena to work on balance. This will be a "for fun" ride to help encourage breaking out of your comfort zone and team bonding. It'll also allow your saddles to dry before using them again.
My husband, Jeffery, will also have our grill available if you want to bring hot dogs or similar since we will run into lunchtime.
