Presented by Margo Asimus, nationally recognised Wound Management Nurse Practitioner, educator, and former President of Wounds Australia, this immersive experience will showcase practical skills designed to elevate your wound care practices to the highest standards. Participants will be actively challenged to deepen their understanding of evidence-based best practices. Prepare to expand your knowledge, enhance your skills, and transform your approach to wound care through interactive demonstrations and collaborative discussions.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Apply the TIME framework (Tissue, Infection/Inflammation, Moisture balance, and Edge of wound) to conduct a systematic wound assessment
2. Identify and justify appropriate wound care products based on wound characteristics, exudate level, and patient factors.
3. Demonstrate the correct technique for wound cleansing, selecting suitable cleansing solutions and methods to promote healing by preparing the wound bed
4. Test and compare dressing absorbency to support evidence-based product selection for different wound types and exudate levels.
5. Describe the principles of skin tear management and demonstrate correct application of dressings to protect fragile skin on the lower limb.
All attendees will receive a CPD-accredited certificate.
