The Community Justice Centre is offering a Practical Mediation Skills training in Alice Springs from 11 to 15 November 2024. Participants will learn the theory and practice of a mediation process that can be applied in a range of dispute contexts. The training is recommended for anyone interested in increasing their skills in communication and managing conflict, or who are interested in becoming an accredited mediator under the national standards.
Participants will learn a step-by-step mediation process and Develop the knowledge, skills and tools to manage and actively resolve conflict in a range of dispute contexts.
Our trainers are conflict management and dispute resolution practitioners with extensive practical experience and passion for the transformative power of mediation.
Participants will also receive personal guidance and feedback from highly-skilled mediator coaches from across the field.

Develop an understanding of conflict - Mediation training builds understanding of the causes, phases and functions of conflict, and of the different approaches to dealing with disputes.

A limited number of scholarships are available for Aboriginal participants, or community practitioners with experience in remote contexts.
