Description: Astronomy is often thought of as the study of literally everything outside of the Earth. However, astronomy is deeply embedded in the daily lives of people across time and across cultures, and plays a critical role in a number of unexpected areas of our lives. In this talk, we’ll explore how astronomy has influenced navigation, agriculture, energy, and other aspects of human society since ancient times.
Night sky observations to follow. The sky might be dark enough to catch some deep sky objects!
