About this Event
If you’re interested in advancing ethnographic research, join our Practice and Process Reading Group on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 7 AM UTC for an in-depth session with experts Rebecca Bednarek and Paul Spee. We will explore insights from their book Making a Market for Acts of God.
Jarzabkowski, P., Bednarek, R., & Spee, P. (2015). Making a market for acts of God: The practice of risk-trading in the global reinsurance industry. Oxford University Press, USA.
Although it is desirable to know the book for the discussion, it is not absolutely necessary. Rather, we would like to discuss with the authors, for example, what needs to be considered in such a long project, what tips they can give for an ethnography and how data from a project can be used for different publications.
Therefore, following the framework by Smets et al. (2014), we will explore how to manage globally dispersed, team-based, and multi-instrument approaches to push the boundaries of ethnography.
