6 pm Introduction to PPC Live UK

6.15 pm Talk 1 - Maddie Crawford - The Ad Copy You Think Matters vs. The Ad Copy Your Audience Cares About

In the last 5 years, Google has slowly removed a lot of our control in ad copy testing & we can only assume that our visibility will get less and less on what's performing well and what isn't as we relinquish control to machine learning. I want to talk about bridging the divide between what we think our UPSs are vs what users actually care about and, without pushing any buttons, how many users make it past your headlines!

About Maddie:

I began my digital marketing career via an apprenticeship & over the last 5 years, have specialised in PPC (paid advertising) and data analysis. In the 5 years, I've been in the digital industry, I have become a professional & quickly moved up the ranks. I'm extremely determined & always trying to learn more. With this, I have achieved many personal goals, such as winning awards for my work, being named in the BIMA100 class of 2019 and also getting many speaking opportunities at events like Brighton SEOs Search Advertising Show.

6.45 pm Talk 2 - Azeem Ahmad - Proving the value of PPC in your overall marketing strategy

All too often, PPC is viewed as expensive and inefficient. These are often common misconceptions from those who are generally single-channel-minded or haven’t explored PPC in depth. Throughout this session, you will learn the value of PPC and where it fits into an overall marketing strategy with Azeem.

About Azeem:

I have been in the industry for several years, beginning in a paid search-focused role before broadening into a multi-channel focus. I am experienced in various aspects of online marketing activity, including PPC, Social Media, Display, Programmatic, App Marketing and SEO, working with budgets from as little as €50 to over £10 million per year. I've delivered campaigns all over UK & EMEA with positive results.

7.15 pm 15 mins snack break

7.30 pm Talk 3 - Tiffany Shears - GTM by "The Tracking Yoda" - how to become a pro

Once you understand how GTM works, you can do so many wonderful things, and you can track absolutely everything. The only catch is most people don’t understand how GTM works or how to track very advanced enquiries. Once you understand the basics, you can do absolutely anything. This talk will explain the basics of GTM and how to do some absolutely must-have tracking. To name a few, you will learn how to: set up contact forms as a custom trackable event, to set up thank you pages as a custom, use debug mode to understand data layer variables and many more.

About Tiffany:

At the start of my career, I worked within a complaints department for a digital marketing company, where I got the opportunity to learn more about different marketing channels and how they benefitted businesses. From here, I attained my role of PPC Executive, learning the nitty and gritty of the service, which is where my passion for pay-per-click really began to flourish!

Soon enough, I became an account manager, which enabled me to get stuck in the day-to-day of the industry. I’ve worked across a variety of PPC channels, including Search, Bing and Shopping and have had the chance to work alongside businesses with both lead generation and eCommerce sites. According to my team, I’m also a ‘specialist’ in Tag Manager!

When I’m not busy finding the next solution for one of our clients, I can be found studying various marketing courses, listening to podcasts and reading blogs. In my short time at my new company, I have become one of the eCommerce and Tag specialists.

8.00 pm Talk 4 - Sophie Logan - Don't Sleep on Microsoft's Audience Network!

Have you been putting off exploring Microsoft's Audience Network? Are you still a bit unsure about what it actually is and how best to get started?

This talk will introduce you to the network and explain why you should consider including it in your Paid Media strategy. It will also offer some best practices and set up advice based on first-hand experience (both good and bad!) so that you can take your Microsoft Advertising account to the next level.

About Sophie:

I’m the Head of Paid Media at Victress Digital, a small PPC and Social Media agency based in Nottingham. I specialise in Search and Display Campaigns and have a particular interest in B2B and SaaS brands.

I’m passionate about ensuring that my talks are actionable and that all attendees have something to work on once they’re back in the office. It always makes me smile when I’m speaking and look out to see someone frantically writing down things or when someone catches me afterwards to ask questions about how my topic could work for their particular situation.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dog Dexter, Aka PPC Pug, and all things to do with True Crime.

8.30 - 10 pm Socials & Networking. Location TBD
