We invite you for an amazing Acro intensive weekend with Kiljan and Kat, incredibly skilled (kind and fun) teachers that will take us for a 4-part acrobatic journey into Icarians, Whips and Whip pops, Hand to Hands and Counterbalances.
Meet your teachers:
Kat is a passionate acrobat from Belgium that has a hard time choosing between handstands, icarian, standing acro and whip-pops! She started gymnastics at the age of 6 in a small town club ‘De Greves’ in Hamme.�Following her passion, she obtained her Masters degree in Sports and Movement Sciences as well as her teaching degree in 2016 at the University of Leuven. Afterwards she rolled into the circusworld and has been traveling- teaching – performing around Europe.

Kiljan: coming from athletics, mountain biking and rock climbing, he is exclusively into teaching, performing and playing acro all over the world in the past years.
Achieving new skills lets us all feel empowered - he really loves it to be part of the moment in which people surprise themselves accomplishing a new skill that seemed to be out of reach.

Together they are combining their skills like summer and ice cream, performing and teaching a big variety of workshops since beginning of 2022. Newest update: they went even more nuts and bought a piece of land with a church, house and a big Garden to create and let also other organisers host their events in this unique atmosphere.
LEVEL:
We adapt the difficulty level of the tricks accordingly to the group.
Please bring some Acroyoga experience, meaning: basic positions like bird, throne, whale, shoulder stand and tried some pops like throne to throne (hands of the base can still stay connected with the feet of the flyer) or bird to bird (hands of the base can still stay connected with the hands of the flyer)
We will also pay attention on spotting techniques so everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Workshop Program:
Saturday:
10:00 - 11:45: Icarian Flow
We will dive into a sequence with diverse tricks that is created for a multilevel group - so you can choose the option that challenges you in the right way and that you feel safe trying. The technique of each transition and the according spotting will be explained in detail.
11:45 - 12:00: Brain and body reset + drinking break
12:00 - 13:00: Martini! 🍸
We created some pre exercises that are already fun tricks by itself, so also achievable by people who don’t feel ready to try a martini yet.
13:00 - 15:00 - Lunch Break
15:00 - 17:30 – H2H
Kat and Kiljan bring a big toolbox of different hand to hand connections, variations, entries and exits. Some easier than hand to hand, some harder. They know how to spice things up in a way that everybody gets a challenge according to their level.
They will give , depending on the interests and skill level, input starting from essentials like how to enter a hand to hand and find stability together with your partner up to technical more difficult challenges.
Possible options: h2h, h2h counter balance, monos, special connections/variations (normal, reverse, different grips, handstand on body parts), challenging entries and/or exits (slow or dynamic), everything possible in L-base as well as standing or even extended h2h ) for those who already feel comfortable trying.
Sunday:
10:00 - 11:30: Counterbalances 1
11:30 - 11:45: Brain reset and drinking break
11:45 -13:00: Counterbalances 2
The world of counterbalances is wide, challenging and fun. Kat and Kiljan will bring a variety of possibilities on all levels, L-base as well as standing. What’s a counterbalance: when two or more acrobats use their body weight in opposition to create a stable, balanced position.
13:00 - 15:00 - Lunch Break
15:00 - 17:30 – Whips and Whip pops
Towards the end the weekend we will learn how to whip like a pro and pop the right way at the right time.
Beginners: Learn your first whips and depending on the group level and progress, how to connect them with various pops.
Experienced participants: Mortalito! Work on and polish your Mortalito and progress to Full Mortalito, reverse Mortalito, Fish.
