Lael is currently the PIO for the Santa Barbara County Department of Public Works and a past president for CAPIO. Julia is the owner of Julia McHugh PR and has taught public relations courses at Santa Barbara City College.

The event is being held jointly with the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO).
