Power Station,Friday 27th February 2026, 7.30pm
Universal Hall, Findhorn
In the depths of the pandemic, artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn decide that instead of power bills going through the roof, power should come off the roof.
They launch a grassroots plan to turn every building in their street into a power station through the installation of solar panels. Their turbulent journey will include meetings in hard hats, the invention of a new currency, putting the bed on the roof, smoke bombs, a hit pop single, and even a royal visit. It’s an enchanting utopian recipe; take a community, mix in some vision and energy, add just a dash of British eccentricity, and the result is everyday magic. In the end a thousand flowers will bloom. By turns funny and heartwarming,
Powell and Edelstyn’s film is a vibrant portrait of their local neighbourhood and a charming testament to the power of art in changing minds about what could be possible. This is how change happens. Power to the people.
