Hollywood Prayer Network, (a Christian organization that offers prayer, events, and community to believers in the arts, creative, and entertainment industry) is thrilled to once again be hosting a community wide, cross-church, non-denominational, and multi-ministry event for the entire Entertainment Industry community and the Body of Christ in Hollywood!
This is the 29th year that the Hollywood Prayer Network is hosting an event for the Hollywood Christian Community on the National Day of Prayer, that we call, the "Hollywood Day of Prayer". In past years, we have brought together a large and diverse group of Jesus-lovers who want to pray and worship together, while also interceding for the Hollywood Entertainment Industry, and the prevalent issues, people, and projects. We want to continually see REVIVAL in Hollywood and across the global industry community – and we believe that ALWAYS BEGINS WITH PRAYER!
INVITE YOUR CHURCH, FRIENDS, COMMUNITY, HOME GROUP, MINISTRY, and BIBLE STUDY members to a wonderful event - on MAY 2nd, 3rd, & 4th - where we invite the Presence of God, through the Holy Spirit, to reveal Jesus's heart for prayer to the believers in our city!
NIGHT 1 : Why We Pray - With Karen and Jim Covell
Founding HPN Director Karen Covell and her husband Jim Covell will be tackling the question of WHY we pray – particularly for Hollywood and the global entertainment industry community. HPN Program Director Kelry Kirschenmann and her husband Tim Kirschenmann will dive deep into the prayer life of a Christian. They will break down what it truly means to enter into intercession- which is necessary for revival!
Karen Covell is a producer in Hollywood who started Hollywood Prayer Network 20 years ago with the mission of creating a bridge between the church and the industry. She has connected with tens of thousands of creatives around the world, has started 150 global chapters, and fights tirelessly for the Christian world to pray for Hollywood and the precious people who live here. Jim Covell is a successful composer and has scored numerous projects and features over his tenure as a musician in Hollywood. Karen and Jim have been mentoring, speaking and teaching about this topic passionately for almost 40 years and have touched countless lives together. They are a powerful testament to faith and marriage and want to see ALL Christian creatives be strong in the Lord, grow in their faith, and be excellent in their craft!
Kelry Kirschenmann is a creative director, brand developer, website creator, artist, and worship leader. She and her husband Tim were called to Hollywood in 2017. Tim is a musician, song-writer, and creative that came whole-heartedly to Jesus out of deep involvement in the New Age movement. Kelry and Tim emphasize what it is to live out “Kingdom Culture”, and pursue after the fullness of what's available through Christ. Together, they ignite passion for Jesus through lifestyles of serving, laughing a lot, and loving Jesus with all they have.
We are kicking off Thursday night with a community JESUS BLOCK PARTY at 5:00pm in the courtyard on the FPCH campus!! Positive, Encouraging 100.3 will be there playing tunes and handing out swag, Jesus Burgers will be there serving 200 FREE burgers, and HPN will be there available to hangout and pray with anyone that comes! This is an awesome time to meet and connect with believers in Hollywood and the entertainment and creative industries! Write a prayer request and stick it to our 36 ft long Hollywood Sign mural! Meet wonderful people, and come hang out with us before the event begins!
NIGHT 2: Community Prayer and Worship Night- A powerful night of prayer and worship, with a beautiful melting pot of Ministry leaders, Industry professionals, and anyone who feels led to PRAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!
With a powerful spirit-led worship team, prayer leaders available throughout the night, and intentional prayer over areas that God has highlighted to us, we are honored to open up the doors of the Campus to ALL!
We will also have time for interpersonal prayer for those who need it, and times of small group prayer ver the different crafts and disciplines that make up the Media, Arts, and Entertainment Industries. Join us for a night of outpouring, community, and PRAYER!
NIGHT 3: Exclusive Film Screening + Panel Discussion
A Century of Prayer in Hollywood!
Hollywood, Teach Us to Pray offers a roller coaster ride through American film history, highlighting the inclusion of prayers in movie narratives, as plot turning points (African Queen), spiritual weapons (Election), cultural markers (It’s a Wonderful Life), dramatic tour de forces (Bad Times at the El Royale), comedy (Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Talladega Nights), westerns (Pale Rider and Rooster Cogburn) and traces of transcendence (Tree of Life). People of all races, genders, ethnic groups, ages, economic status, and spiritual conditions talk, shout, whisper, haggle, cry, sing, and wrestle with God.
