About this Event
Power Carving a Wooden Pendant
Learn to rough out, shape, sand, and hang your own wooden pendant using a flex-shaft carver and a scrollsaw.
This workshop is a perfect introduction to one of many applications for power carving, and requires zero prior knowledge in woodworking. In this class you will learn how to take a design from a simple sketch to a finished piece of carved jewelry using power tools. Farcee Bell will show you how to saw, shape, and sand a pendant out of a small block of wood.
Throughout the process you will learn the basics of wood identification and selection, how to design a durable and comfortable piece, the fundamentals of sandpaper and hand sanding for a flawless finish, as well as how to select a finish that is appropriate for the application. You will receive a list of resources, recommendations, and information at the end of this class.
$15 materials fee included in class price.
