About this Event
The Poverty Simulation is a three-hour event that sensitizes participants to the reality and challenges of people living in poverty. Participants work together as members in low-income families to determine how to survive with little to no money, few resources, emergencies, health issues and more. Volunteers with lived experience play the roles of service providers and other community resources (e.g., bank, employer, and child care). This experience will help those in public health understand the challenges of those served who may be experiencing poverty.
The event is free, but space is limited. Register today!

About Circles:
Circles® is a national relationship-based movement that helps communities become educated about the causes of poverty and the barriers that keep people in poverty. Directly, Circles helps individuals and families living in poverty achieve self-sufficiency. Circles INDY builds intentional relationships among people from all walks of life to help individuals build resources and achieve unique goals and dreams. Over time, incomes improve, debt and public assistance decreases and long-lasting transformational friendships are built that strengthen the entire community.
