Pottery Workshop

In this unique experience, participants will explore their creativity and learn pottery making fundamentals through hands-on practice and expert instruction, ensuring an engaging and rewarding experience for all. With experienced instructors, hands-on practice, and personalized guidance, students will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and create beautiful pottery pieces to cherish for years to come.

Class Structure:

1. Introduction to Pottery Hand Building: The class will begin with an introduction to the basics of pottery hand building techniques. In particular we will be utilizing the slab building technique which will be demonstrated to the students on how to properly roll a slab of clay for their projects. Participants will learn how to prepare and work with clay to create their desired forms.

2. Hands-On Practice: Each participant will receive 3 pounds of clay to work with during the class. Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, students will have the opportunity to experiment with different hand building techniques to create their own unique pottery bowls or mugs to be determined by the facilitator of your event beforehand. This will allow for the instructors to prepare the correct size and number of slabs for each participant.

3. Demonstration and Instruction: Our instructors will provide a demonstration on various decorative techniques, including additions, texture, and the addition of handles or feet. Students will learn how to enhance their pottery pieces with these elements to add character and style.

4. Individual Guidance: With three instructors on hand, each student will receive personalized guidance and attention throughout the class. Our instructors will be available to answer questions, provide feedback, and offer assistance as needed to ensure that every participant feels supported in their creative endeavors.

5. Students will choose a glaze color that they want their final pieces to be. Our instructors will bring projects back to the studio for the drying and firing process. The instructors will glaze to the selected colors. Once final glaze fire is complete, our staff will deliver the completed works of art to your location for participants to pick up.
