Join Barb in the pottery studio where she will guide you in decorating a personalized serving platter using the sgrafitto technique. Sgrafitto is the art of etching in your design into leather hard clay. Barb will have the trays premade. You will choose and apply your base coat color(s) of underglaze and once it is dry you will then etch your design out using clay carving tools. Your piece will be coated in a clear glaze and kiln fired making it food safe and be ready for pick up in two weeks.
Barb will have multiple designs to choose from. however if you have a line drawn pattern or picture that you would like to use feel free to bring it.
Does not have to be Christmas themed.
Platters will be approximaley 8"x12" once fired.
absolutely no experience necessary.
