Frequently asked questions
Do I need any pottery experience?
No experience necessary! This class is suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced potters who would like to join like-minded creatives over a drink.

What should I bring?
Nothing! Everything you need including clay, tools and even your welcome drink of choice is provided. We may recommend wearing something you don't mind getting dirty.

What welcome drinks can I choose from?
Pint of beer, medium wine, soft or hot drink of your choice

How many pieces can I make?
One completed, fired piece is included within the session cost. If you wish to make and keep additional items there will be a small additional charge, payable on the evening to cover clay and firing costs.

Will my pieces come out of the firing perfectly?
Although all due care will be taken transporting and processing your makes, issues such as air bubbles or weak joins can lead to breakages during the firing process. We cannot guarantee pieces will come through the firing perfectly, though we will show you during the class how to minimise the risk.
Will my pieces be glazed?
You will be provided with underglaze at the workshop to add colour & surface design to your pieces. The bisque firing (which turn your piece from clay in to ceramic) is included with your workshop. This will result in a matte finish. If your would like a clear glaze applied to your finished piece you can arrange this on the evening and will pay an additional £5 to cover glaze and cost of the second firing. I can show you examples of glazed and unglazed pieces at the workshop.
How do I get my pieces back?
You can collect your pieces from my home in St Austell if you are local or opt to have your pieces delivered to you. Delivery charge is a flat fee of £5 for your piece.
Is the class suitable for children?
Absolutely! All ages are welcome. I would recommend that the class is suitable for 5yrs+.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult as the workshop is taking place in a local pub :-)
