Join us for a cosy afternoon of creativity, hand building your own vase or mug using beginner-friendly clay hand-sculpting techniques.Pottery & Mulled Wine, what a great combo for a cosy winter's afternoon. Our incredibly talented potters will spend the arvo teaching you the art of hand-building clay. Showing you techniques to create your own mug, vase or both!
In this pottery workshop, you’ll get your hands dirty and learn how to sculpt and create a ceramic piece, focusing on building something that is truly one of a kind. Tara will show you the techniques required to get you started, then you can enjoy the next few hours practicing your new skill and sculpting a usable keepsake that's full of personality.
Clay is a fun hobby, that is perfect for those wanting to try something different.
What this workshop includes:
- All equipment and tools required including clay
- Firing and glazing for 2 pieces
- Instructions & guidance from one of Perth’s best Ceramicists
- Delicious home made Mulled Wine on arrival and flowing throughout
- Mediterranean mezze board to graze on during the session
- Bottomless loose leaf teas, coffee, and juice
What to bring:
Clay is wonderfully messy! So be sure to wear some old clothes and covered shoes. We'll provide you with an apron if you need one.
Important info about this workshop:
Following the workshop, your pieces will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within 6-8 weeks.
If you create more than 2 x items, you can pay a kiln & glazing fee per item to turn other creations into usable ceramic vessels. Pricing depends on the size of your creation.
Pottery can be challenging, sometimes on the first go, you might not create something you love. We will do our best to help coach you along the way. Ceramics can sometimes be unpredictable. Due to this, there are limitations on the size of your items, sadly pieces break during the firing process and we want to ensure you have a beautiful and functional piece. Trust us, we have had to learn from heartbreak!
Don't worry though our expert will cover all of this at the start of your workshop.
