*Frequently asked questions*
Do I need any pottery experience?
No experience necessary! This class is suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced potters who would like to join like-minded creatives.
What should I bring?
Nothing! Everything you need including clay, tools and even your welcome cream tea is included. We may recommend wearing something you don't mind getting dirty.
What's included in the cream tea?
Your choice of hot or soft drink, scones, jam and cream
How many pieces can I make?
One completed, fired piece is included within the session cost. If you wish to make and keep additional items there will be a small additional charge, payable on the evening to cover clay and firing costs.
Will all my pieces come out perfectly?
Although all due care will be taken transporting and processing your makes, issues such as air bubbles or weak joins can lead to breakages during the firing process. We cannot guarantee pieces will come through the firing perfectly, though we will show you during the class how to minimise the risk.
Will my pottery be glazed?
Your pottery session includes a bisq firing of your piece which will result in a matt finish. Should you wish to have a clear glaze applied which will make your piece foodsafe and watertight you can pay £5 on the day of the session to arrange this.
How do I get my pottery back?
Bisq fired pieces will be ready within 2 weeks. If you want your piece glazed it will be ready within 4 weeks. You will be contacted once your pieces are ready and can opt to collect your items from the session venue (Trevallicks Farm Shop) or pay £5 to have your items securely posted to you.
