Join us for a special Potluck Dinner and early, family-friendly Thanksgiving-themed service at Berith Sholom on Friday, November 21, beginning at 5:45 p.m. This month’s theme for our abbreviated service is Thanksgiving, making it a perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together and celebrate the season of gratitude. We invite you to bring a dairy or vegetarian dish to share with the community. The potluck dinner is a wonderful chance to enjoy delicious food, connect with others, and experience the warmth of our congregation.
During the service, the Rabbi will read the story “Molly's Pilgrim,” which tells the tale of a young Russian Jewish immigrant girl named Molly who faces challenges adapting to her new American school. The story explores the true meaning of being a "pilgrim" and features a Thanksgiving project where Molly's mother creates a doll representing a Russian Jewish refugee. Through this project, Molly and her classmates come to understand that people from all backgrounds seeking religious freedom are pilgrims.
All are welcome to join us for this fun and engaging evening. Children will receive a Thanksgiving activity book along with a unique Thanksgiving gift bag to take home.
