Join staff from the Smithsonian National Postal Museum for a discussion of One Woman's Army: A Black Officer Remembers the WAC by Charity Adams Earley. Explore the fascinating history of the 6888th, the only organization of black women to serve overseas during World War II. Under Early's leadership, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion broke all records for redirecting military mail, lifting the spirits of soldiers throughout England and France while clearing a three-year backlog. Participants can learn more about this story through the Netflix film Six Triple Eight, starring Kerry Washington as Captain Charity Adams.
