Join us for a heartfelt celebration honoring the extraordinary life and legacy of Romay Johnson Davisβa trailblazer, veteran, and inspiration to generations. This special event will feature guest speakers sharing reflections on her impact, followed by a community luncheon.
Romay Johnson Davis was a member of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-African American, all-female unit to serve overseas during World War II. Her battalion played a critical role in restoring morale by clearing massive backlogs of mail for U.S. troops in Europe. Their motto: βNo Mail, Low Morale.β In 2022, she was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for her service
