About this Event
Postgraduate Researcher Opportunities Showcase
Welcome to our Postgraduate Researcher Opportunities Showcase! Join us in-person for a day filled with outstanding talks from students, alumni, academics and professional service (PS) staff. We will explain what a PhD is, why you may want to undertake one, and what the University of Liverpool has to offer, while giving the opportunity to meet your peers.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has a rich research culture where PhD students are involved in cutting edge work with world-leading experts in their field. We provide the support and facilities necessary for students to undertake globally recognised research, successfully complete a PhD, and begin a career in academia or beyond.
The agenda for the day includes:
- Talks from current Humanities and Social Sciences postgraduate researchers studying doctorates here at the University of Liverpool and alumni who have graduated with a doctorate and what careers they have moved on to.
- Presentations from colleagues around how to write a research proposal, funding options for a PhD, and the training and development available for you on your journey.
- A chance to ask staff and current PGRs any questions you have about studying for a doctorate.
The showcase will be held in the Elizabeth Gidney room on the 2nd floor of the Liverpool Guild of Students.
This in-person event is your chance to network, ask questions, and pave the way for your academic future. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity!
