Be a volunteer like Davy and help us heal our beautiful State Park!Join us for our next volunteer event at the park! During this event we will be gathering and transporting split rail fencing that has accumulated between the Amphitheatre and Black Powder Range.
What do volunteers need to bring?
*Long sleeved shirts and pants, eye protection, sturdy shoes (boots recommended), refillable water bottle, heavy duty work gloves (medium duty gloves provided), sun protection if forecast is hot/sunny and/or warm clothing for cold weather.
*DCBSP will provide: Latex/nitrile gloves, work gloves, sanitation wipes/alcohol hand sanitizer, trash bags, hand washing station, masks.
* Additional recommendations: Up to date tetanus AND hepatitis shots. *
What are the conditions going to be like?
Unsteady grounds (both sand and mud), debris (metal, plastic, natural), cold mornings and warm afternoons (hydrate), NO FACILITIES AVAILABLE TO USE, SO (1) PORTABLE TOILET ONLY, hiking/walking for extended periods of time, heavy weight from objects and flood soil >30-50 lbs., direct sun exposure (not many shaded areas due to tree damage).
Each volunteer must sign an official TSP liability form before working!
No children under 16, no pets, carpool if possible. Meet at park entrance. All volunteers will be required to sign a liability form upon arrival.
There are only 20 available participant spots for this program.
Registration for this event closes on Friday, March 28th.
