In 2018, Louis Karchin composed “As the Circle Opens to Infinity…” for us, and we had the privilege to premiere the work. Later that summer, we had another opportunity to perform it again in June at Buffalo at the University of Buffalo. Since COVID-19, we stopped most of our regular concert series, including the PORTRAIT concert series, which dedicates a concert to one composer that we believe is significant in the contemporary classical music scene. We are resuming the PORTRAIT series in the upcoming season, and we are excited to announce that we will be performing works by Louis Karchin, including “As the Circle Opens to Infinity…”, again at the Tenri Cultural Institute.Admission to this concert is free.
