Portrait Lighting & Posing Hands-On Workshop

Join us for an eleven-hour portrait lighting & posing course split over four days! Enjoy two evenings of instruction, one afternoon of hands-on shooting at guided by the legendary Peter Gold, followed by a wrap-up afternoon class to review the best High Park images and give out some prizes!

With our exceptionally educational, lighting and posing workshop with seasoned Master Photographer, Peter Gold, you will acquire practical, hands-on experience using various classic lighting and posing techniques that will bring your photography to a new level. Even in less-than-ideal locations, Peter will teach you reliable guidelines to follow for portrait sessions of both people and animals that will help you reduce stress and enable you to produce outstanding images no matter the obstacle.

During this four-session workshop, you will learn how to adapt different lighting methods to various settings, including both indoor and outdoor, utilizing strobes, LED lighting, reflectors, and natural sunlight. This includes a hands-on session offering participants the chance to create portraits at the unique, High Park YYC, a diverse, ubran location in the Beltline.

Before concluding the workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to submit their top two images from the High Park shoot for projection and receive some constructive critique. This is an excellent way to enhance your photography skills, learn from your peers and become closer to the photography community. Prizes will be given to the top three images presented.

About Peter Gold:

Master Photographer Peter Gold has created award-winning portrait, wedding and commercial photography since 1972 when he established Gold Photography in Alberta.He is an accredited Master of Photographic Arts through the Professional Photographers of Canada, a recipient of two Kodak Gallery Awards and a Fuji Wedding Award, a recipient of both a PPOC - Alberta Citation Award and a National Citation Award, a past exhibitor of portrait photography at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary and at EPCOT Centre at Disney World, an instructor of portrait and wedding workshops internationally and a judge for professional photography competitions internationally.
