Join Manuela on this one-day workshop where you will have the opportunity to try out a traditional method for portraying the portrait on toned paper.By looking at drawings from artists from the past, we will see how this method was used to capture quick sketches from their models and how they use the paper to speed up capturing the form.
With step-by-step demonstrations, participants will have the opportunity to learn about how to draw a head and their features of the face using white and black charcoal on the coloured toned paper of your choice.
You will be introduced to the tools and guidelines that help get proportions. Dynamic helpful warm up exercises will be given in how to draw with white and black charcoal using the paper for your mid tones. We will look at how light reveals the forms on the face and how we can show this in our drawings.
