About this Event

Course Overview:
Our Portrait Drawing class is open to anyone aged 16 and above who is keen to explore the art of drawing portraits from life. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, you’ll receive unwavering support as you build confidence in your own artistic style. In a welcoming and supportive environment, you’ll be guided through essential drawing techniques, facial proportions, and the nuances of capturing human expressions and postures.

Teaching Approach:
Get ready to be inspired! Each week, you'll work with different models and explore new themes, with lessons designed to challenge and broaden your artistic abilities. Our instructors will provide personalised feedback and practical tips to enhance your approach to portrait drawing, helping you bring your subjects to life on paper.

What You'll Learn:
The course is organised as a series of 10 sessions. By the end of this 10-session course, you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of facial proportions, features, and expressions, applying these concepts to your portrait drawings.
  • Enhance your ability to capture the essence of your subjects through various poses and mediums.
  • Build confidence in your unique drawing style, especially when working from life models.
  • Prepare your portraits for display in a group exhibition.
